Very weird problem with boot drive

Okay, so I have this really weird problem with my sig rig. I have 2 hard drives. The boot drive is a Western Digital 320GB, and the other is a Samsung 1TB...So once my computer is booted into XP, if I go into stanby/restart/or shut down, the computer won't boot. It will sit at the POST screen for a while and then say "Primary Master Hard Disk Error" I initially thought that my hard drive was dead...I took it out and plugged it in to another computer using this USB hard drive converter...Windows 7 recognized it and I could see all my files. I put it back in and it booted fine but it does the same thing, can't go into stand by or anything or I have to shut it down, unplug the hard drives and reset the BIOS to defaults, then plug the hard drives back in for it to boot even though I haven't changed any of the settings since the problem. I have no idea what's going on since when I leave it on 24/7 it has no problems. I scanned it for viruses and there are none. It also has no bad sectors, and I have not edited the boot.ini file. Thanks in advance for any replies!

You need to fix or work out the boot manager.

Download EasyBCD (great program I've used it before) and set everything like that.

This can't be good...once I installed it, it said
"The boot configuration data store could not be opened.
The system cannot find the file specified.

Would you like to manually load a BCD registry for EasyBCD to manage?"

Thanks for your help!
