Can My PSU take a 6950?

Thread Starter
Currently running my 6950 with the rig in my sig and am very pleased with it, coming from a 9800GTX. However, I am a little scared to crank it up and do any heavy gaming with it due to my 520W PSU. It is really scraping it, should I be worried? I will be getting a new PSU reasonably soon at which point I will be doing some flashing too.

For overclocking, it would be saver you take a better PSU that can delivers more power.

Real Power M520 RS-520-ASAA-A1 ~34A

I would look at upgrading.
My old HX520 had 40amps and you have 34.

Your PSU is decent, so for the moment you should be ok, but do not stress it with overclocks. Wait til your new PSU arrives for that, but if you have your system chilling stock style you should eb able to game to your hearts content.

Yes, it will run, it will work... But if you take the MAX out of your HD6950 and overclock it, you will take problems . So go for a other PSU who can deliver more power.

I'm using a seasonic 520W M12ii +80bronze

For my x4 OC and today I've been OCing my 6950 with up to 1.3V

No fires yet , but it must be getting close to its upper limit

Nah, seasonic is a delicious unit with 40A on the 12V. OCd 6950 and an OCd X4 should be fine. Just don't add another GPU
