CTFO. 144hz is the reason.

because whats the point in getting 100+ fps if your at 60hz refresh? ( and yes i know 120hz lcd's are out there )

Your eyes are too slow to notice a difference past 85hz.

Its more between my hand and eyes, i could REALLY care less about how much fps i can SEE, as opposed to how fluid my games FEEL.

Right now, AMD does not allow me to set my CRT's above 59hz. so the comment about 85+ is about as invalid as i could fathom.

Off topic, I like your handle.

On topic, i cant really tell frame wise in a full screen first person game. other than the way it feels. so as far as 6990 vs gtx590 i would really pick whichever had the smoothest framerates. its choppyness and inconsistent performance that bother me.

but moving my cursor around a fixed image i can tell the difference all the way up to 144hz. i could imagine not being able to see the mouse trail 'blinkingly?' across my screen, and see it as more of an actual blur, so this is very believable.

I'm going to look around for some info on this just out of curiosity.

For you who want to argue, this is my personal preference. bugger off.

*cough* BS *cough*

Horrible arguments, BTW. Also, there are 120Hz and even 240Hz LCD monitors.
