hi all
ive just purchased a GIGABYTE GA-G41M-ES2L rev 1.1 motherboard and was hoping 1 of you could help me out with setting the bios up as ive been told the ram im using is compatible but i have to adjust the bios to make it run at the speed it meant to be at?

this is my specs :
GA-G41M-ES2L motherboard with f9 bios
4gb kingston hyperx KHX8500D2K2 memory
Intel Q6600 core to quad processor
512mb Nvidia 9600gt graphics card
720w power supply
any help or suggestions on setting the bios up for best performance would be great.

go into the M.I.T. section and manually set the timings to the ones specified for your ram and set the multiplier to 4.00
you'll also want to go to the bottom of that page and manually set the Ram voltage

Hi thanks for your reply
ive done as you instructed but in my bios under the dram multiplier it has 4 options: auto, 2.00a, 2.50a and 3.00a, there isnt a 4.00 and leaving it set to auto still shows as only 800mhz ram and same with setting it to 3.00a.
Im just wondering if i have to change any of the cpu or gpu settings to allow it to show 4.00a ?
so please any other suggestions lol im currently reading up how to overclock just to see if i can get any better performance from my setup as at the minute it is all at factory settings apart from me doing as clark b has suggested.

thats right. I forgot about that.
either run the ram at 800mhz and set timings to 4-4-4-12
or set your fsb to 350 and cpu multiplier to 7 then manually set your cpu voltage to the greyed out value and disable CPU EIST function and Enhanced HALT.
That'll give put your ram at 1050mhz and cpu at 2.45.
