[Solved]Main RIG Freezing, what to test list.

My RIG is locking once every 2-3 days. (It did it before, but it was a once in a blue moon if that.) The RAM is Brand new and has passed MEMTEST. everything is 24H stable with Prime95 Blend great temps (everything below 40C) , the OS was redone 3 days ago, all updated drivers I pulled my ATI Video card, I still have my Happauge 1250 in.

I got the ASUS M4N82 Deluxe used, it had just come from RMA. (Repair but doesn't say what was repaired.)

What i have in my RIG now,PATRIOT Memory Viper PC2-6400 PV224G6400LLKB 4-4-4 11 T2 everything else AUTO.

Spare kit OCZ2P8004GK 5-4-4 12 T2 everything else AUTO, MEMTEST passed

what else can i say? (besides WTH??!!)

EDIT: I forgot to say, it will happen at anytime Zoom player-WinTv/Firefox/4 wigets or Crysis/Zoom Player-WinTv/4 wigets. it can be just one thing and it will freeze.

You've pretty much narrowed down everything. Do you have another hard drive lying around to install Windows on it and see if it doesn't freeze?

Also, do you have another motherboard around that can support those parts?

^ I was afraid of that.

Everything but the the 1100T, all testing was done, two fold, once on the RIG and once on Old fateful.(old AM2 Lenovo computer. the CPU is from my RIG AMD 64 X2 6400+.)
Well I will give the PATA HDD a try, maybe I will get lucky.

Thank you.

Well, here an update, F***'in thing is still doing it! I used that old PATA ,didn't work, Hell I got a brand new HDD, didn't work.

I think I am going nuts, 13 years of building/fixing and I can't get this to stop freezing.

Some how I think the MOBO is bad. Any test I could try? How can I prove it to ASUS?

This PSU is 60 days old, Brand new.

Bump, no ideas? I guess I will just give ASUS a call.

Sounds like the motherboard, they probably did a bad repair job... Or, I've had my socket 939 system freeze on me, and I realized it was my processor, after i replaced the cpu, it stopped freezing.

Edit : I realized that you are overclocked.. It could be an unstable overclock, try to downclock it a little bit. What are your voltage settings?

Motherboard. This happens on my laptop, everything freezes for like 30 seconds then keeps going. Might be temps as well.

Freezing normally occurs because of your CPU, hard drive, or motherboard. Temps are something you should definently look into. Get Coretemp and tell us your CPU's temperature for load and idle.

^If was just 30 SEC that would be great, but once it's freezes you must restart it.

CPUv is set to Auto in CPUz the V are 1.296 (Loaded with IBT or Prime95.)

I forgot to say that besides the timings, everything is set to stock. the CPU is new, but wouldn't the Prime95 rule out the CPU? I did a quick 5 pass of IBT, would 20 be a good number to start with?(and go up instill it shows instability?)

I will try that right now.

Thank you, everyone for the suggestions.
