If you say it does then you haven't played Crysis 2, simple

Even when Crysis 1 is modded, Crysis 2 still holds it's own and looks dam good for DX9
Going by screenshots alone, Crysis on high looks better than Crysis 2 on extreme. Not going to buy the game to prove a point though. Although I probably will when it's $7.50 on a Steam weekend sale.

Crysis 1 does look good on high i agree, it is a loopy subject because the art work is very different for both games. In some areas Crysis 1 looks better and in other Crysis 2 looks a bit more modern, either way both are good

And LOL dude, $7:50? are we really that cheap on OCN? we pay all this money for expensive hardware and developers spend years creating a game and you think it's only worth the small change you can spare amounting to $7:50? That's just silly and cheap in my opinion (not being harsh but it is)

It is an enjoyable game and worth more than your $7:50...You can barely buy a fast food meal for that price.

It sounds like the PC is not for you.

I guarantee if you had a rig capable of maxing out Crysis, your tone would be completely different.
From that comment the PC is clearly not for YOU.

You do not understand what PC gaming is about. It is about playing the game. The immersion, the experience. The graphics is but a single part of that. The PC is about the ability to have full precise control through mouse and keyboard.

The PC is about the whole "better" experience, graphics is but a small part of the bigger picture.

They say this game was made for the PC first if that was true it would be DX11 NOT CONSOLE DX9
post #57 of 159
Ill wait for xigmatek to do some extreme mod for the game. That guy should work for crytec.
Anyway just because some of us got money, doesnt give us the right to bash others.
Look at my sig rig... my first card of choice was 8800gts but i couldnt afford it. Now i was able to get a good card but my system is lacking, ALOT. Doesnt make me or any1 else a better pc gamer. In the end if u challenge him in a game (BC2 or any online game) he might kick ur A**. Though as pc gamers we always strive for better fps/image quality, but to a certain point where my system can handle. And i must settle with the image quality and enjoy the game itself.
Crysis when it first came out...man i remember the hate and bash. "Its a bench not a game" "can it run crysis" "the game sucks" "not gona buy a game just to look at it" "the story and gameplay is dull"...etc
Now the graphics are lower but the story and gameplay are better. I would gladly compromise image quality to get better experience for my dollar.

Question for anyone:

When you first started the game and checked you graphic settings, what was the default setting, High, Very High or Extreme? What card are you using?

The best improvement between Crysis 2 and Crysis si the multiGPU managment.
Crysis 1 would struggled to using all of my 3 GPUs whereas Crysis is making my GPUs suffer hell with 99% (no spikes of use like many other games including BFBC2) on all GPUs.

Multiplayer textures look bad but I assume it was made to improve framerate.

Singleplayer looks actually wayyy better than the multiplayer and is matching Crysis 1.

Playing the game, immersion, and experience. Congrats you described gaming in general?

Sorry, but aside from mouse and keyboard, all the PC has over the consoles in gaming is better hardware which translates to better graphics and framerates which is the whole point of PC gaming.

M+KB is all preference. There are many people that play on the PC with controllers so your argument is bullocks.

Also immersiveness and experience is all augmented by graphics and framerates so you already benefit greatly from gaming on the PC. So really.. what exactly are you trying to say? Was the poster I quoted your friend and you're defending him or something? Because your argument already supports what I said yet you're disagreeing with me?
