So get the two bay. It would still work with only one drive and you can add a second one later if you ever feel the need.

I wound up getting the Thermaltake. I have to say I'm a bit surprised by the result. I thought the whole idea of these all metal enclosures that wrap around the drive was to allow for excellent thermal transfer. It appears not to be the case at least for the Vantec. With the Thermaltake the ambient temperature of the drive is 30C - a full 12C less than what it was in the Vantec enclosure. Assuming that's accurate it's quite a difference. Needless to say I'm keeping the drive in this new enclosure.

BTW, the only Lian Li I could find from a US seller was the EX-20 and that was a bit too much money for what I needed.

I never see my 300GB WD Velociraptor above 27C. Right now it is at 24C.
