Help w/ monitor - Page 2

This is why I don't think it's a graphics card issue:

Like is said, the monitor will work some of the time. I can't tell if it's going to work before I ever turn on the computer (thus giving power to the graphics card). If I turn on the monitor a message on the monitor says no signal. If I get this message then I turn on the computer and everything works perfectly until I turn the computer off. If I do not get this message on the monitor then when I turn on the pc the problem persists and nothing happens.

I'm going to borrow a monitor from my friend tomorrow to test it out.

Update:

I called HP and was pleasantly surprised. I was on the phone for a while, but they're actually sending someone to my house to replace the old monitor with a new one! Ive always heard bad things about HP customer support, but my experience with them was good.
