Nope.

They should do it with the OC mode too, since it's a hardware feature.

If that is the case, this card needs to be a good bit cheaper then. You can say the 6990 is loud and all that but companies will come up with their custom coolers and the like which kinda nullifies this drawback.

Throw in the oc switch then it is bad. How much these cards retailing for in comparison to a 6990?

Well, so far I'm glad I held off. Looking like going with another 480 will be the more efficient approach to improving my 3D performance.

And glad to see some 3D tests ran in some reviews. Very handy for those that run it.

Look at the processor tomshardware uses against everybody else, seems the CPU is making a difference here.

Well, even in Tom's Hardware review, it's too close. But, it's looking like the 6990's still the king - and they didn't even test the 6990 in its OC mode.

The 590's better in power consumption and noise though.

also in tom's hardware review in some cases HD6990 in stock clocks tops the HD6990 in 880mhz...there's something fishy....
my spider-sense says anand's review will be the same. lol.

Yeah it is, haha, maybe newer drivers will fix the issue? they did rush with the drivers indeed.

6990 still the king though.
