[Various] All Pre-NDA GTX590 Threads - Page 29

GTX 590 is faster than the GTX 580? I call BS.

Kidding. I get a feeling this will be priced at around $700. That was really unexpected, for it to be quiet. Go nV.

--Edit--
Other posters might be right. Maybe this card is TOO quiet.... oh well, I like quiet.

I like how the right side of the picture of the two 8-pin connectors is cut off on the right side, makes you wonder if there is anything else to the right of those two.

Think about it, if you throw this on water you will be able to reach this thing's potential, but would two 8-pin connectors provide enough power when you can find a GTX 580 that already has two 8-pin connectors?

If running at <1.00v with binned chips and low clocks it will be silent and cold
Maybe Nvidia will use a different marketing strategy approach ... 6990 is a really good performer but negative points are the heat and the noise ...

So, if they can have a "almost as powerful" solution with less heat and less noise ... it's a selling factor...

And my guess is " Ok, unleash the beast with by overclocking the damn thing... but get a really cold and silent card for the sake of your sanity " ehehhe

The way the cooler is designed it is actually supposed to be very quiet, definitely quieter than AMD's HD6990. The question here is whether the cooler will be able to properly cool those GPUs.

soil... we're 1 week away from announcement... although yes... there can be lots of rumors, but at this time, they will have a high percentage of truth behind them ... it's hard to keep "secrets" when they are in the phase of worldwide distributing the card

I'm curious as to see how the logo looks lit up.

I'd imagine something along the lines of this: GTX470/GTX480 Light Mod Project

This is funny, reading invalid argument vs.invalid argument. You're arguing about who has a worse cooling design? Arguing about heat vs. performance vs. who spent the most vs. "crappy scaling"? I have my own opinions, but arguing using opinions is a never-ending battle (and almost guaranteed to be accused of wearing some colored glasses). Just don't start spouting out "facts" about the 590 because you own a 6990. You don't have any facts. Not yet.
