Would love to. If you want to come here and help me rebuild all my 3 dedicated waterloops with 3 pumps, 3 reservoirs, 4 triple rads and 20 feet of tubings I had to tear down yesterday to change my mobo Maximus B3 stepping I just received from Asus, it would be my pleasure.

I'm planning on doing serious benching with a waterblock on the 6990. And EK told me the 6990 waterblocks should be ready in 2 weeks. So I planned all-along on changing my mobo while waiting for the waterblock.

Really hope the 590 is worth it. More competiton = more benefits for us consumers.

What I'm tired of is all the FUD, assumptions and misinformation circulating about the 6990. It's a tempest in a glass of water. The switch and warranty, the noise of the stock cooler, heat, etc. All blownout of proportions and exagerated, and by people who don't even own the card... and 99% of the time, by people with ''580 SLI'' or ''580 Quad-SLI'' in their signatures.

I can understand the anger and frustration of seeing a 1000$ set-up (580 SLI) outclassed by another 1000$ set-up (6990+6970) only 3 months down the road. Really frustrating. But they need to get a grip and relax.

The 6990 is a hell of a card. AMD went all out. The switch to match the 6970 speed and go Tri-Fire in 2 seconds is a genious idea. The card is not that noisy compared to other high-end cards. It's not consuming 2200w like a Quad 580 SLI set-up like we have seen on the video with the guy an the Antec PSU. It's a great card, and will probably be faster then the 590, and stay the fastest high-tech single card on the planet.

Alot of drama-queens. Tempest in a glass of water. People should applaud AMD instead for pushing the limits and making the green giant move and react, finally. Competition is good for us. We ALL know the 590 wouldn't even exist if AMD didn't talked about the 6990 a couple of months ago...

It's the beginning of a new era of throwing every power specs out of the window and going all out to take the first place! The more the better for power-users like us!

Don't be surprised if Nvidia start using BIOS switch soon on their next generation of GPUs...

Kirk out.

Waiting for the 590 to come out. Now going back to clean each of my compression fittings with a toothbrush.

How is a blogspot a source of news? Reliability of pics/info is 1/10.
Doubt this fits the guidelines for a news post.

i would pick a slower NVIDIA card with better drivers over a faster AMD card any day

Pfft , well i have my 6970 running eyefinity .. never had a problem , everything works great even with 11.4 preview drivers . Please stop saying that , its rediculous . Nvidia drivers aren't any better im afraid .. they both have there ups and downs .

6990 > gtx590 ..

amd have pulled it off this time around .

Once 6990 prices come down a little i will be getting one .

such a weak statement when talking about the 6 series these days. the driver issues have been minimal to say the least. do yourself a favor and go check out the nvidia section and see if nvidia doesn't have any driver issues. lol

It's such a POS that nothing comes close to it. Yeah that makes sense. If you're triple monitoring, not even 2GB is enough, not to mention ATI's bottlenecked Xfire bridges in 3/4-way which won't even let you run triple monitors properly.

Just as some 6990s can't hit 1000 either. Your point?

Wait and see for LN2. Another pointless rebuttal. We're talking about air.

Yeah, AMD/Nvidia are stupid... Are you saying that into the mirror?

Well since you said that, sure I'll take your word over the plethora of review sites saying otherwise. The 6970 doesn't have to run the fan above 70% for 1000 OC.

You don't have to. The 570s trump the 6990 and costs less. Not to mention PhysX, better Tessellation, CUDA>Stream, better OpenCL, usable 3D Vision. Why gimp yourself?

lol maybe at 1920x1080 they keep up with the 6990. definitely don't trump the card though. they are ram limited and it's been shown that where the 6990 starts to shine at, the 570 is choked. 580s are different though.

With my new babies (2x6990) and 11.4 drivers, I am able to play all my games without any BSODs or CTODs.

With my old setup (2x5970) and older drivers, I had issues with some games not able to play properly. Just Cause 2 would always CTOD with any drivers, Crysis Warhead had weird artifacts and my cards were nowhere near 70c, Tropico 3 CTOD, Singularity had an application error, etc.....

i have a new found joy in playing pc games without any glitches.
