OP, you seem to have contact with an internal source from NVIDIA, can you comment about the new March 24 launch date?

My sources tell me they are aware of these "rumors" and unfortunately, at this time I am am not being allowed to comment on it. I can only say that there are some meetings going on between NVIDIA and it's partners. If I get any updates I'll be sure to let you guys know.

4870x2 they stopped all together releasing drivers to help it, and when they released a driver that BROKE ALL THE CARDS by disabling the second core - it took them 3-4 months to fix it because they were so caught up with the newer cards and fixing their problems. Not saying you should expect drivers for older cards all the time, but when they release a driver that borks them and it takes a considerable amount of time to fix - it makes a person wonder why the bug actually popped up when it did when they weren't even releasing drivers for it anymore.... Interesting no?
my arguement wasn't about the length that AMD keeps updating the drivers for cards, it was the worth of the drivers as they are released. When AMD stops making the cards, then they stop making drivers for them as well. It's no secret. They focus on improving the latest tech. There comes a time when you really aren't squeezing any more frames out and the man hours search for a possible fix aren't justified in the budget. I'm not saying I like it, but it is one of the reasons why AMD released drivers every month consistantly unlike nvidia.

this arguement still doesn't change the fact that the current drivers are very good for AMD and only going to get better making what was said a weak statement since it subjective and not based off of facts.

Pure speculation: Maybe they're delaying it to flash a new bios with higher clock speeds to compete with the 6990....

Possible... but highly improbable considering that they have had plenty of time to do that already (since 3/8). Plus the clocks are set by power draw & thermals anyway

at this point, they should have the cards already in the reviewers hands and in distributors ... i don't believe they are doing changes this late in the game...

yea AMD is known to suck on alot of games IMO
