[Various] All Pre-NDA GTX590 Threads - Page 53

The 6990? From the review it looks it was clocked at 880MHz. But the translation isn't the best. Which brings a good question. Which of the 2 clock rates will we see in reviews next week? That's something we will have to keep an eye on.

They introduced that with the 400 series. You have a 400 series card, have you not seen that in the settings and wondered what it is?

You don't need 3D monitors, you can run either 3D or 2D monitors up to 2560x1600 per monitor.

Say what? I know you can run in 3D or 2D but you need 120Hz monitors for the 3D glasses. Also playing in 3D is double the performance hit and that's why you need SLI for it. Unlike Eyefinity which even low end Radeons support which is a joke really because why would you even try Eyefinity for gaming unless you got some serious raw power.

Which videos were deleted? If you mean Tributars videos comparing AMD vs Nvidia, they are still here: http://www.overclock.net/hardware-ne...l#post12785925

Don't worry though. When AMD releases the mythical 2x performance 6990 drivers in six months, it will be a "massacre". So videos created now are irrelevant.

Yeah I bet they weren't using the newest Catalyst driver which promisses up to 50% increase in Unigine Heaven

Oh never mind. He used them. I guess we do have to wait for that magical driver to fix all issues

Yea it will just take a little time. I know the latest drivers got me an extra 8-10 frames in Badcompany2 so.. will probably be something similar down the road.

I dont think it is..
MSI backed out of making the 590..
AFAIK Asus and EVGA are the only companies releasing 590s in the USA as of now.

I did a quick test of Heaven 2.5 to see if a 4th GPU gained any performance versus the 3x setup found here:

18% performance gain for a single display using slightly slower stock clocks on the GPUs versus the review isn't too shabby. People considering 2x GTX 590s might be interested in the information.
