"Up to 50%" and "50% performance gains" is not the same thing. This is a comparison to the original driver release.

i tried clicking on this link that was on the page i linked to which said to go to for more information about the 590 and it just gives me a 404. another reason why it might not be real.

Also this 50% boost is in Heaven , Not in game..
Isnt Heaven the bench that all the AMD guys said was irrelevant when the 5xxx was getting crushed in every tessellation bench?

So lemme get this straight:
Crysis 2 comes out in 2 days.
So should this video card.

BOTH Nvidia and Crytek have said or released very little to virtually no information about either. I'm sick of this nonsense. If you're going to release a product, how about you let the people interested in knowing something - anything - about it.
Especially when you consider the fact I want both. I want the 590 for Crysis 2, but the problem is - they come out on the same day. So how the hell do I work this if I want to play Crysis 2 the day of launch? UGH!

i pre-ordered the nano edition a while back so i really hope the card is not bundled with crysis 2 which would add about $60 on top of an already high price. i just want the card, nothing else.

Yes, exactly. But it's tough with all the flaming and personal attacks. People (put 580 owners here) don't even look at the charts and then flame flame flame. But at least, there is one person following here. Interesting review, no?

They didn't OC the Tri-Fire set-up. And they were using the stock 6990 OC bios speed, and has you can see, the 6990, with the BETA 11.4 drivers, is easily keeping up with the 580 SLI 1.5GB set-up. Already head-to-head.

Look at the charts for 2560 and higher resolution with 4XAA and 8XAA.

So how can the 590, with not enough VRAM (just like those slides are showing with the 580 SLI), and LOWER clocks, be able to keep up with the 6990 AND 580 SLI? Impossible.

It will be slower then 580 SLI, and on those slides, with 11.4, the 6990 alone is already head-to-head with 580 SLI. Does anyone here really think that the 590 will be FASTER then 580 SLI?

About those video Vega felt in love with. Why not do a more logical video of 3X 6970 against 3X 580? And a video of 2X 6990 against 2X 590 will be also more logical. Those videos were stupid IMHO. And why no videos of 6990+6970 against 580 SLI?

I think it was intentionnally done to put Nvidia in a better light. Tributar receives alot of free cards, so he does what needs to be done to keep getting those freebies and gifts...

Do 3X 6970 against 3X 580, or 2X 6990 against 2X 590 next week. That's the way to do it properly.

And 3 X 6970 against 2x 590 would be the same, but the opposite. Totally not logical. And the 2X 590 would look bad. Not really difficult to extrapolate that.

Your points regarding biased videos are fine but lampooning all 580 owners as "fanboys" is unacceptable. I, for one, do not care who the manufacturer of the GPU is. I want the best graphics solution for my system. I would have already purchased 2 AMD 6990s for CrossFire if they blew everything out of the water. They don't and so I decided to wait for the GTX-590 and see how it compares, especially GTX-590 SLI vs 6990 CrossFire.

I don't do water cooling so I want a card that will perform at its prime without compromising usability or anything else. 70+ decibels on a sound card is just way too high. That's like saying a sports car will only go fast if you use straight pipes. Engineering GPUs is about maximizing performance within the bounds of power usage, sound levels, and thermal dissipation. Anyone can produce a card that is insanely loud, hot, and power-hungry but to do so while keeping the card relatively silent, power-conscious, and thermally tolerable is the 'BETTER' card. Others may not agree with me on this but if you plan to use your system everyday and use it to its potential, the aforementioned factors do play a part in a consumer's buying decision; it certainly does so for me.

I am eagerly waiting for reviews of the AMD 6990 CrossFire vs. NVidia GTX-590 SLI for ultra-high resolutions (surround gaming/eyefinity).

Hey Vega would you recommend waiting for the EVGA 3GB GTX-580 and doing tri-SLI with that or GTX-590 SLI? I'm doing surround gaming as well.

Also, noticed your 990X is on the stock CPU cooler. What is your v-core & QPI/DRAM voltage for the 4.6GHz clock?
