Look at the results (and with old drivers, 11.4 are making a big difference) in here. 3X 6970 against 3X 580. Strange, AMD looks alot better on those charts...

And look at the videos at the end of the page.

Do you think Tributar will do a video of 3X 6970 against 2X 590 (with only 1.5Gb of VRAM)? Nah. Don't what to loose the Nvidia freebies.
Stock comparisons are useless.
2560x1600 and below, 570s win:

BC2:

Metro2033:

3DMark Vantage:

11.4 didn't help much.
Also, listen to the sound of those 6970 jet engines in that video. Not only do they perform sub-par, they're deafening.

lets try and keep it on topic. this isn't about what works for 2560x1600 and below. it's about the 590.

i hope it is launched at midnight pacific tonight. really don't want to wait till thursday to see the reviews.

PoopaScooper.

This is an old review with old drivers.

11.4 are giving between 10-20% fps with 6970, and with those, the 6970 is even passing in front of 580 SLI, and leaving 570 / 570 SLI in the dust.

So easy to dig up old reviews with old drivers.

Useless. Why not find a review using 10.6 or 10.7 drivers just to be sure? I'm sure you can do it.

Look at this. That's a real useful slide. 11.2 vs 11.4. 10-20%.

I know you won't even look at those benchmarks and will flame flame flame. But the 570 can't keep up with those new drivers. Look. And then go dig a really old review, like last november with 10.10 or 10.11, and post some links to it to ''prove your point''.

Sigh. I knew it.

Didn't even look at the slides, didn't read the post, took 1 line only from my post, and post 3 seconds later a big ''Deal with it''.

Wow. You're really impressing my with that big animation. Teenager, probably.

Look again at the Crysis results on that review. it,s strange, why did you choose not to post that slide about Crysis? And Just Cause 2? Where is your post with that slide? Call of Duty Modern Warfare?

Not because AMD won don't test in the same review i hope? Shame on you.

Keep posting bro.

We already saw what Crysis2 does with 3 580s vs 4 6970s. 590 @ 580 stock clocks just steamrolls the 6990.

So, not only does ATI's highest performing GPUs get easily defeated, they have sub-par Tessellation, no PhysX, CUDA>Stream, single 560 beats a 6990 in OpenCL, and good luck trying to find a monitor to play in 3D; not to mention those jet engines are deafening.
Yeah, I'd buy one too...

Meh... please, try not forcing mods to close the thread ... let's get on topic and enough of this "empty argumentation about the damn 6990" ... dude ... people are already tired of the 6990 just because of your talk all over the forums ... and it's not only OCN ...

Try not to give 6990 a bad image man ... i'm thinking on ordering one ... i don't want to remember "Levesque" every time i look at it!!!!!

/on topic

So... having a closer look at the gtx590 box ... the main "subject" on that box is the Afterburner and the oc potential ...

That's not a really good marketing... how many users will overclock a gtx590 with stock cooling? Are they aiming at enthusiasts overclockers only ? I know lots of "enthusiasts" that will not overclock the GPU ... so they will loose clients...

Nice!
This review you keep posting, you look at the settings?
Other than Modern Warfare, none of the games were tested at max IQ levels.

I'm going to assume you're an adult, how about you act like one and quit posting childish images.

It's rather funny that you keep bringing up OpenCL, I can say the same about NV FP64 performance.
Even the castrated 5830 Cypress embarrasses the GF Fermi.
But does that really matter for gaming, no.
So what's the point for the avg Joe?

Well, we do know that in those videos 2 6990s got beaten by 3 GTX 580s and the Radeon cards were using the latest drivers. I do expect performance to go up for the 6990s though; as they were just released.

We also know how the 6970 performs

Is this guy trying to say that 2 6970s will beta 2 GTX 580s?
