Isn't it obvious? We were made aware of an upcoming product several months before release via youtube. Not a simple print press release. Were as we know nothing of the 590 and it's 24/72 hours before the card is released.

So when you can't debate about false equivalence you resort to ad hominem. Nice. How long will it be before we reach full circle? Can't be to many posts now .
But the main point is very simple. There were people making pros and cons about the 6990. The same is happening here with the 590 and it will continue to happen with any new hardware related release. It's the way debates work (hint).

One thing I noticed is that there was nothing leaked about the 590 in any significant way (as we've seen in the past) that would indicate to us (before release) that the 590 would be better then the 6990. Something we've seen from other products in the past. I also exampled HD 6990 using linked videos in my previous post to give some idea of what I'm talking about. Other(s) are putting forth their own opinions be it for or against the 590. I any case it's only a few more days before the cards are released.

I don't know what kind of witchcraft was done to the Nvidia 500 series cards centrifugal fans but by Jove they are quieter than my 6870 was.

If performance is similar and one is quieter than the other but costs more my money will go into keeping my rig as quiet as possible.

/opinion.
Simple really, they went larger on the diameter.

don't believe that pricing ... or... Asus is putting a higher price tag on the card that it's supposed :x

Usually, prices in Euros are never higher than USD equivalent... Maybe the same, but never higher ... so, if the card is costing 799EUR ... i can't believe it will be priced at 750USD

The axial fan on the 295 co op was much quieter than the centrifugal of the dual pcb 295.

Same can be said for the 590.
no it can't right now. not until we see how the lack of phases has affected the card. my point is we already know the 6990 will thrive on water, we don't know how the 590 will react. it may very well choke up no matter if it's on water or not at a certain point. i definitely hope not but we won't know until launch.

I thought the gtx590 hadn't been released yet? Have I missed something, because it is already being sold at a portuguese store (reservation, sure, but that should mean they already have its specs or something, somehow).. price: 826€

Hmm, I can't say if this is real or not. Could be a shop job, don't know.

This is just to make reference to what is supposedly the 590 below.

Supposedly 590

Supposedly 590 against the 6990.

That matches the specs I posted so yeah it might be real and perhaps the GTX 590 will be priced @ $750 USD after all

With that being said. Could someone with 2 GTX 580s downclock their cards to match these specss and do some benchmarks for us?
