There have been some rumors of at least 840 on the core. Not sure what methods were used to achieve this... but it is promising.

I mean -- if you buy the 590 for let's say $750 then with some clocking you can get $1000+ of performance. I was leaning toward the 6990 for the vram... but horsepower trumps vram and right now the 590 owns everybody's horses

Lol, just because we have a leak doesn't mean you can jump to conclusions there buddy.

You have no idea what system pulled those scores...

Horsepower doesn't necessarily trump vram either. Two SLi 460 2gb's can run surround 56x12 surround mode fine.

So as far as a vantage perspective its on par with a switch flipped 6990. Lovely stuff! Lets hope the temps are good as well as its acoustics. Wouldn't mind something a bit quieter than my 5970

Everybody has a different opinion of "just fine"... Furthermore, the scores aren't outlandish given benchmarks of 570 SLI or 6970 crossfire. The card is coming out tomorrow so I doubt the info is way off...

Why are people complaining about the warranty being voided on a 6990 if you use the OC switch? AMD has never recommended/supported overclocking. It's the same with their software, they allow you to overclock in CCC/Overdrive/AMD GPU tool but it still voids the warranty if you do it.

and it will uses stupid amount of power if you do overclock.
So the 590 doesn't use alot of power if you overclock it?

The amount of sheer ignorance in this thread amazes me.

I mean it's not amazing, it's not my 580's, but I don't think any one would really consider it below "just fine"

Meh realized I'm probably clogging up the thread with clutter lol, so read this link if you want more:

I don't know how to feel about the card until I see official reviews, I think jumping to conclusions is stupid when people start to argue about them.

We can state our opinions, but no point arguing. My opinion is it is a card made to be "awesome" and not necessarily to be the best performer. I think SLI 580's will clock higher than a 590 and the % increase in 580 SLI will come close to the % increase in price it has. Just my assumption.

Card comes out 24'th I believe.
