Mother of mercy what a beast of a PCB D:
I have my doubts about this though. The GTX 580 still isnt the coolest card and two of those cooled by a NVIDIA cooling "solution"...

I have a feeling that due to the massive power draw, this will be like the ultra high end Intel CPUs in the Pentium 3 era...Barely any on the market and really just a marketing thing. ("WE HAVE THE FASTEST GPU YAY")

I wonder...what happened with Asus L33T products? I mean, MARS and the like could never ever keep the power at spec, couldn't they?
Maybe they are allowed if they release an uber limited product?

I don't understand. They are going to sell a cherry-picked-highly-limited product...and that it will also be competitive with AMDs pricing?
Something seems fishy...

I'm just going to quote something found in the article:

Quote:
Keep in mind that under FurMark, a regular GTX 580 with power draw disabled, shows a power consumption of 300W (350W when overclocked). We can’t then imagine the power consumption of a card with two GF110 GPUs…

The GTX 590 will have two 8-pin power supply connectors, and certainly a third power connector like for MSI’s GTX 480 Lightning
I'm not going to go further than this.

Its curious...but it depends on the country. As it is, NVIDIA has always been a tad more expensive than AMD for the same performance (which I understand, as they offer CUDA and physx...stuff that I couldn't care less about that some people could find interesting).
Here, instead, its the contrary: NVIDIA happens to be a tad cheaper. For example, we got a huge debate between 4870X2 vs GTX295 because you could find both for the same price...whereas in the US the 4870X2 stood between GTX285 price and GTX295.
Again, the majority of the people seems to recommend the HD6950 over the GTX560 because price is so close...but here the cheapest GTX560 is found for around 200-220€ whereas the cheapest HD6950 can't be found for less than 270€.

Something curious..but lets see what this beastie does (if there is any chance you can find it for sale at your local seller )

why didn't they make the GTX590 two GF114 CPU's.
Then they should of made a Less power hungry GTX585 but more powerful
then used two of them GPU's to make a GTX595.

... if this is true ... this card is going to have the success of the Mars ... :x

Meh ... it's a no go for nvidia in this situation ... instead of creating a good card, that can have superior performance to GTX 580 ... and that can be consumed by a large number of enthusiasts that are welling to get a single card dual GPU ... they are going to create a super exquisite card, with high price tag... Meh ...

Hope ATI won't go that way ...
I had high hopes for 590 ... since i'm that kind of guy that only likes to have 1 card in the computer... and if this is true, nvidia is a no go
