I RMAed a faulty 5870 Eyefinity 6 and Sapphire offers a 6950 Flex for replacement, have you guys figured out if this card is unlockable?

You don't need to unlock it, the 6950 flex is already better than the 5870 eyefinity.

Try on HWbot, lots of Rus users who could make it easier for language transfers. I speak Russian, but I have no cyrillic on my keyboard or OS

I know it's better, and I'd be happy with it even locked. Just wanted to know if it can be done...

One guy says yes, everyone else I know says no, and I know 3 people with the Flex GPUs.

It's not just the 5 outputs, I agree that's silly for most (but not for everyone). The 2 solutions you suggested aren't a consideration for most potential buyers, true. What is a consideration, is the ease at which you can implement 3 monitor eyefinity. These cards allow you to output to up to 3 monitors without any of them being displayport. You can do 3 dvi out of the box with included hdmi-dvi, or any combination of 3 dvi/hdmi monitors with dvi-hdmi which are dirt cheap. Not having to buy displayport monitors, or an active adapter, is the real advantage to most potential eyefinity users. Peace Oh and it can output to 5 screens!!! lol so you could do 3 monitor eyefinity (with at least one displayport) and still have a full time hdmi output for your lcd/projector (and another dvi for the hell of it?). That's legit my friend, and pretty flexible for a single card, oh now i get it...
