Downloading Files Never Finish Downloading

Thread Starter
Hey guys, I have an issue when I'm downloading large files or watching long videos. The download will reach some percentage of completion (it's different every time) and then stop. It will act as if it is still downloading the file but it no longer continues to download it.
Some things I have done: I have tried several different large files to download and the problem exists with all of them. I have used different web browsers but that doesn't help either. I have tried both my desktop which is connected by ethernet cable and my laptop which is connected via wifi and the problem exists with both of them.

Any advice or suggestions are welcome. Thanks guys.

When you say "large files", what do you mean exactly? How large are you talking? Why not use a 3rd party download manager and not the one that comes with the browser?

The file I was trying to download was 3D Mark11 which is ~280 MB. It does the same for long youtube videos.

I can try using a 3rd party download manager. I'll download Free Download Manager and let you know how that works out. Thanks

Well, I tried using Free Download Manager and that works well but I much prefer to use the in-browser download managers.
What I've done is moved the positions on my modem and router so that they can cool more efficiently (they were in kind of a tight space earlier) and that seems to have fixed the problem. I'm currently downloading a 3.5 GB file without issue.

So, moral of the story is make sure your modem and router don't get too hot.
