PNY 570 GTX OC Info?

Thread Starter
Hi Guys, I barely made it to get a 570GTX and the cheapest (with lifetime warranty) was PNY's.

I have some questions about it that you guys might know the answer.

a) Why can't I change the vCore using MSI's Afterburner? Is the PNY's 570 Not a reference card?
-Solved

b) How many power phases does it have?

c) Why do I see some users using EVGA SC's BIOS on the PNY's card? Like http://www.overclock.net/member.php?u=161327

Thanks!

The power phases should be the same as the reference model. I don't have the number on me, but a quick google should find this result. I'm guessing people want EVGA bios on it is to unlock the fan to 100% (maxes out at 85% stock) and to get that extra overclock onto the card. You can mod your own bios too if you want. I suggest flashing your bios to allow more fan speed though.

I see, thanks for all the info.

So far these are my results:

800/1600/1900 @ 0.975v = Gaming/OCCT Stable
850/1600/1900 @ 0.975v = EVGA OC Scanner Stable / Futuremark Crash
870/1740/1900 @ 1.013v = EVGA OC Scanner Stable
880/1760/1900 @ 1.025v = EVGA OC Scanner Stable
890/1780/1900 @ 1.038v = EVGA OC Scanner Stable
900/1800/1900 @ 1.063v = EVGA OC Scanner Stable

I find the 800Mhz @ 0.975v the best so far, would like to see if 990mV are enough for 850Mhz .

Not bad, no risk taking it up to 1.1v I'm been running those volts for about a month and a half now since I've got it. If you can get 900core with 1.05v then I can see you going up to 950 at 1.1!

How long do you scan for stability? I use occt, has not failed me yet.

I've read that >1.063v you're actually risking it. Depends on luck and how the card's VRM's are.

I don't think I can do a 900 @ 1.05V, what I did was do a 15min EVGA OC Scanner test @ 70C to force artifacts and then call it a PASS.

Afterwards I run Futuremark and OCCT (1hr) and if it passes then I try gaming. So far I've only tried the first OC as completely stable.
