To all 2GB 560 owners out there

Hi Everyone

I am trying to get a new setup for lan fests and am building an i5 2500K setup. I am thinking of buying the palit 2gb 560 but I haven't found any reviews out there on the net.

To any owners of this or the other 2GB 560 models, would you mind shedding some info on the performance numbers, temps & Power, OC numbers etc?

I am debating whether or not to go for this or a 2GB 6950 and I would appreciate some info from people here

My other desktop already has an MSI 480 Lightning which is awesome sauce lol

thanks y'all

P.s. I know 1 GB is more than enough for gaming at 1080p, but like to play GTA 4 every once in a while and even my 480 stutters when i max all the distance sliders. I know 4 is poorly optimized, but I also use high res mods for games so the extra mem is useful for me.

I responded to your PM, but if it's between these two, the 2GB 6950 is a better buy hands down (unless you strictly want to stay green). Stock they already edge the 560s and they can flash to 6970s which puts them between the 570 and 580.

Well, personally, being an NVIDIA fan, I would go with the 6950's. You can't beat the price, 269 shipped on amazon. An the 2 i just bought were unlock able to 6970's. So you get 2 cards that match the 570 for the price of a couple 560's

The 2 Gb would perform identical to the 1 Gb, except be able to handle larger textures.

Look for 560 1Gb reviews. They will be "close enough". Dig around on "toms hardware". The have review with power consumption, noise, fps. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...14,2845-2.html

Hi

Thanks Booty Warrior and everyone else for your opinions. So I guess I will go ahead with the 6950 then.

I've looked at many reviews, but my only concern was that while 560 < 6950 in most games by a small margin, in games that favour Nvidia (Like Hawx 2, Civ 5, FC2 etc), the 560 outpaces even the 6970. The only game that favours AMD heavily is F1 2010.

Plus, I know that it's not widespread, but I love Mafia 2, Batman AA, Metro 2033 and like Physx. That was why I had a problem in choosing between the 2GB 560 and 6950.

Thanks for the opinions y'all

I doubt you'll notive the 5% advantage of the HD6950 over the GTX 560 so if you like PhysX then go for Nvidia.

I didn't mean to scare you away from the green side!

Don't get me wrong, 560s are great cards. 6950s are a better value in terms of raw performance, but if you are into PhysX and or folding, 560s are a great choice. It's the only reason I didn't go for 6950s myself.
