Eyefinity - Diff response time screens???

Thread Starter
Hey.

I have a samsung screen with 2ms response time and i want to get another one the same and then get the HD version which has a 5ms responce time and run eyefinity.

Will i notice the 5ms over the 2ms in games and general use? Or will i never even know there different response times?

Thanks

First of all, response time and input lag very different beasts. Response time affects ghosting, input lag measures the delay from the input of the monitor to the image being displayed.

Secondly, no way, you'll never notice delay differences between monitors. Even if you had a 30ms delay it would be too fast for your eye to see.

Unlikely to notice the difference but, with eyefinity bear in mind that it pins the refresh rate to your "primary" for all 3 screens this means you can end up with some weird tearing issues especially with non identical screens.

Also ensure all the screen have at the very least the same vertical resolution ie 1080 or 1200 else you will end up with unattractive stretching

Ah ok, the screens i had in mind ar x2 samsung p2370's and x1 samsun p2370HD, so 2 have a 2ms response and the middle will have a 5ms responce, but there both samsung screens same res and size. the HD just replaced the other one.would i be better of running HDMI on primary or dvi, keeping in mind the other 2 are dvi?

not sure I'm afraid I run all of mine from display port. but I would gues that mixing display output types would further cause tearing issues.

Unless you happen to come across someone who has already tried what you are doing and documented it your pretty much stuck with "suck it and see" as your only option sorry mate.

depends on how sensitive you are, yes I noticed difference.
I play fps shooters, (BC2) and the off screen I had was a noticable difference for me, so I switched it to a 2ms one and its been better since.(mine was 8ms)

It will have a small impact, but not that many will notice and only in fast twitch shooters will it have any difference or impact. Normal use, not noticeable.
noting how many cant react to approaching knifes I guess many never will notice any difference...gunner.gif
