Yeah that is the exact card I bought.. I am about to try and flash again and see what happens, that way if I dont get the right amount of shaders I can tell you.. How would I avoid flashing it and having the same clocks as the 6970? couldnt that shorten the life of the card?

Update gpuz. It's impossible to have half the shaders, they don't just disappear.

so you bought your card from newegg?

first focus on unlocking your shaders first. read around or do a search... i don't know much myself. i have the xfx 6950 2gb from amazon coming next week.

Ok looks like it was succesful that time.. Running on 1536 Shaders

GPU Clock 880Mhz , Mem clock 1375mhz

Don't use a 6970 bios, use a modified 6950 bios instead. And don't bother with the upgrade. As a 6950 the 570 is only 10% faster at most and isn't worth it, but now that yours is unlocked you're about even (maybe a bit faster overall).

what would reflashing to the 6950 modified bios you posted do?
