27" full HD LCD advice needed

Thread Starter
i have samsung T220 LCD which im using it since 2009 so im a little fedup from it and want to get a bigger and better lcd..im looking to buy 24"-27". full HD
i have checked some sites and found dell 2420L a 24" led display and samsung P2770HD..and also this one asus lcd display 27" MT276H
i dont have much knowledge about lcd led specs, contract ratio etc..so i need some advice as which lcd i should get, also let me know if there are other models aswell...

EDIT:: im looking at some reviws for samsung P2770HD and people are saying 1980*1080 is a bit low resolution for 27" lcd, it should be higher as this resolution is standard for most 24" lcd....

EDIT:: ok after some research im stuck between 2 models, one is samsung P2770HD and other is without samsung P2770OH, this one is without tv tuner card and speakrs,
so i want to know do i really need HD model? bcz i have tv tuner in my pc and it workd good, also i dont have any device which uses HDMI so HDMI port is useless to me..
i found this site with lcd comparison and i compared these two have a look
http://www.all-monitors.com/compares...cmaster_p2770h

only thing different in these two are responce time is 2ms in 2770h model and contract ratio is also higher in this model..

so what do u guys suggest should i go for 2770HD or 2770H??

also im unable to find 27" LED can someone point out the model of samsung??

and again are there any better models in same price range??

EDIT::and also tell me can i record videos to my pc using the HD model tv tuner? and can i do a picture in picture? like it can be done with the msi tv tuner, resize the window and do ur work on pc/?? can i do this?

I'd go for a SAmsung P2770HD, with or without the tv tuner according to your needs, and if you tell me that you laready a TV tuner on don't have any other devices to connect the one without it will be fine. There aren't manuy other models with this dimensions in this price range.
I don't know if you can do picture in picture.

thanx for the reply, yes i have msi tv tuner card and i watch tv/cable on that, and i dont have any other HDMI device, o i wont be using those ports, i have searched on other forums and people are saying when they use HDMI port with lcd they face problems, but its not the case with DVI port..
so are there any seriously problem with these models which i should look into? or they are good to go and i should buy one of these with my eyes close?
bcz they costs alot and i dont want to waste my money i need to find a perfect LCD..

ok couple of final questions before i go buy it,
there were only 2 main difference between P2770H and P2270HD, one is response time and other contract ratio,
so simple model has 2ms and 70000:1 contrac ratio and HD model has 5ms and 50000:1 contract ratio,
everything else is same.
so are these two big difference? will i see some ghosting or blurring in 5ms or will it be smooth as 2ms?? and what about contract ratio??

They both are the same performance. There's no big different but anything under 5mn is no ghosting. So don't worry it. However, there 2 big advantage about P2770HD:
1. The P2770HD use regular DC power cord. That's easy and liable. The P2770H uses AC power cord which is sucks. When it explodes, it costs you amount of money to replace it.
2. The P2770HD has wall mount hole in the back without using stand. However, the P2770H uses the stand to hold the monitor. If the stand accidently breaks, you have to spend money again.

That's why I consider grabbing P2770HD.

thanx man for the help..
actually i dont have any other option expect P2770HD, if i want to buy anyother then i would have to buy it from abroad ( im from Pakistan)
i was worried about the 5ms and 50000:1 ratio, but as u say it wont matter then i guess ill just take this model..
anything else i want to know about this LCD? like i read in other forums and reviews that HDMI dont give best results,( i wont be using it bcz i dont have any HDMI device or gpu port) and best results are on DVI port? also clarify one thing, P2770HD has HD written in the model name, and P92270H had no HD, does that means P2770H is not full HD?
thanx

HP is making a 27 LED now, something like 2711 give or take. Probably so so image quality.

I have this 28" 1920x1200 monitor and love it. No it's not a $1k dell but it is very nice for $250. I can imagine going smaller now, even my 27" HP 1920X1080 is no good compared to it. I love 16x10. This is a budget monitor.

Get the P2770HD. I have the 23" version (P2370HD) and it's a fantastic monitor.
