- The 6990 is faster
- The 6990 is faster in Crossfire then the GTX 590 is in Sli.
- In some countries the 6990 is cheaper ( £100 cheaper in the UK )
- The 6990 has more VRAM to help it with stupidly high resolutions
- The 6990 has a better phase design meening it should overclock better and more importantly, safer!
- GTX 590 is smaller
- The 6990 will be even faster if the user made results of the 11.4 drivers are anything to go by!
Calm down man.

But this one IMO is the worst I've seen so far. The blue flames of OCN ring true in this thread.

Pretty much. Any other thread regarding AMD, Intel or nvidia is the same way. And it's like that on any other computer hardware site, really.

For the price of a 590 i can get the 6990 with waterblock ... hmmmmm ...

I must says that, they are both beasts, but i was expecting some really big from 590 in terms of OC ... and the fact that doing OC will increase the danger of your card blowing in 50% or something! lol ... gives me chills ..

P.S. It seems TPU went 1.2v when they expressly say not to go beyond 1.1 ... FAIL!

Fight Fight... Wait, I guess I shouldn't encourage it right

To me it is clear...

1) At 1200p and 1600p the 6990 wins by only a little -- so if you care about noise (I don't ) then get the 590 because you aren't losing much for a quieter rig.

2) At surround/eyefinity type resolutions the 6990 is the clear winner

3) Be careful when overclocking. On mature drivers there are plenty of 570s that have blown on 4+1 phases when people got aggressive. The issue is Fermi is power hungry... the drivers have little to do with it. Name ONE card where reviewers reported blowing up the card while testing OCs in recent history. I certainly haven't see it.

Overall I give the 6990 a slight edge because this is OCN and we care about performance not noise, right...

A beta card is an alpha release, purely for testing and/or trying out...Also called Engineering sample.

The cards that were tested are NOT final revisions, they are NOT release cards and are operating on BETA drivers.

Thus making any final conclusion, retarded because you don't have any actual data...you have a basis and a general assumption; that's it.
