well the 6990 was way overclocked than the 590..so what's new??also it was just like trading blows with 6990 and sometimes loose to it big time..

it seems they just protected the card from blowing up..but from these results you can easily draw that even if the 6990 was not overclocked that much it still can hold or beat the 590 down..

I think you've missed it, but we're all on about the card frying itself. Whose gonna buy one when it can fry on it's own on boot up? Thus you can stop the fanboy for now.

...or stop the coolingfan and blow up.
Which reminds me of a certain video I saw recently.

New things I learned from that video - Crossfire profile doesn't work for Crysis2, 6990 has some problems in Bulletstorm in Eyefinity mode and that those Fermi's suck in DragonAge2 and Shogun2. All that could be fixed with new drivers.. or not.

Last great nvidia driver failure happened last year I think. The driver failed to ramp fans up when cards hit thermal thresholds. Guess what happened? A lot of people were affected.

Yes, in Starcraft 2. But what does it have to do with today's situation?

It's good to remember the history so we don't repeat it in the future? Oh nvm, if you don't get it then ya just don't get it.

Heh, I almost forgot about that Starcraft 2 thing.

At least people could play their games before they blew up , and this only happens with old drivers...

If anyone wonders why the clock was at 607Mhz wonder no more. Day one we find out.

Though I haven't heard of any mass out of the box Stock meltdowns, which makes this very interesting in SLI at Stock clocks.

The only thing Overclocked here will be my wallet

Good God the Crysis 2 scores
