Help building my New pc

Thread Starter
I have bought all hardware i need now except for the motherboard i will buy soon.
I had to buy hardware from different online stores since in my town it was not possible to get what i wanted
and it was very expensive here (sometimes price was double).

Because of work i dont have time or knowledge of building a pc
so i want a engineer to do this for me.
so please dont advice me to buildt it myself

Now, I have 2 options of stores to choose from that can build pc for me.
The first is a known videogame store Game that also build and repair pcs
and the second is a for me unknown computer store
The good with the Game store is that shop have been here for years so more trustworthy
The second store seem to be quicker to do things (offered to build my pc in just 1 day)
but since is unknown i fear it can just close down or go on holliday and leave me without my pc stuff.

Now in the first known store i already purchased the processor
and plan to buy the motherboard there so atleast i have bought something in that store.
but they are so slow in giving me prices or order something for me.
I now waited for weeks for a price on motherboard
and i realy need the pc now for my work.

So what do i do?
thing is the hardware have costed me a lot of money being of the latest hardware
so how can i be safe when i deliver it to the store ?

Will they give me a receipt with a list of what hardware i give them
since i only bought the processor and will buy motherboard there most other hardware is from another store.
so i know they going to charge me for building it but prices here in spain are okey on that.
I just want to be safe that i get a reciept with list all the expensive hardware i give them
i think is normal since i dont know them personally.

Is the first time i build a pc with hardware bought on different stores
i had no other way of doing it
it was either buy crap in local store for high price or good quality for better price and get what i want online.

I dont believe pc stores to steal my stuff
is just i fear they can loose some hardware and then blame me they dont have recived it

So what do i do to be safe when i give them my Hardware to get them to build my pc?

Please someone advice so everything goes fine.
Dont advice me to build my Pc myself i dont have the time, knowledge or want to do it so that advice
will for me be useless.

What you can do is deliver all your hardware to them and ask them to assemble the components. They will charge you for that, as any other store will, since you haven't bought the pc there. I think they will understand why you had to buy most things on a different store. However, why don't you ask on a local store to assemble the components? They refused to do so? A store you already know?

If you don't trust the store, explain it gently to the guys/girls, and reach an agreement to get more confident. like a list of the hardware you deliver to them and a signature of the person who received it. But i doubt they will steal your stuff

Yep i know they will charge me something
since i havent buy all the hardware there.
With the first store i hope they dont go so pricey since
i buy/ed the processor and motherboard there
which is a pricey part of the pc
with that i hope to get certain GRIP on the shop if you know what i mean.

If i was to go to another store where i didnt buy anything i would not stay so strong as where i buy the processor and motherboard.

I think they can assemble it for me
i am not worried they will steal anything just that they might loose something and believe i didnt gave it to them... and that could put me in a bad situation

However, right now i traced a plan to avoid this:

I will make a list of all the hardware and send it by email to the store
ask them to prepare a receipt of what they recive have it ready for me when i get there.
Then they just have to check the hardware i bring upto that list.
and if all fine they just give me that reciept.

I bring another List myself and check that list upto the receipt they give me in store.
and that way it should be fine

Then if shop refuse to do this
then there is other stores and i already have another store in mind
and ofcourse i make sure they want to acept it before buying the motherboard there.

Shop is going to tell me mobo price today or tomorrow
if not i call them again see whats going on
if they take too long time on this i have to consider another store
which is a pity since i already buyed the processor from them and though i be better of building the pc in the store i brough both the processor and motherboard at least.

Also when i talk about the motherboard again i will meantion my intention
of that list and probaly get an answer like "Omg you dont trust us do you"
but i dont care i dont feel like giving bunch of expensive hardware to a store and not have a detailed receipt of what i deliver to them.

I have to mention that same store once accused me of not returning a movie they said i rented
and I quickly found out someone i dont know had rented the movie in my name
either that or the shop messed it up
i didnt paid anything ofcourse cause i dint rent the movie
but i say this to point out even if is a big known store here i am going to be as safe possible when i give the shop my precious hardware

Sounds like a good plan. I would absolutely do this if I were in your shoes.

Of course they will get the feeling you don't trust them at 100%
But they have to understand, you don't really know them. just explain the situation, and you'll reach an agreement and mutual confidence

Shipments from boards are not very abunding lately in our part of the world, they probably need some info on their suppliers on the date and prices of the upcoming boards. What platform have you bought? CPU and board?

platform if you mean Processor is a i7 2600k
the motherboard then has to be a p67 1155 chipset
and i probaly go for asrocks fatal1ty like most about it and the color
and the store seem more possitive to order that one.
I am trying to get them order a Evga board but they dont seem to work much with that brand so.. i probaly end up with asrocks... as long i dont get my second creditcard aproved quickly then i go for asus maximus extreme
as that is the one i realy want most color me like but is so expensive (but asrock fatal1ty also good)

Now i have sent a email to the store explaing:
- That Security reciept
- I urged them to hurry since i need the pc buildt before easter
- For the thrid time reminded them of that i get price by friday on mobo
- and talked about that they prepare a price for building the pc
but i had to send them a instruction list of what i want done first ofcourse

Now lets see what they answer
and how they stand in this i let you guys know what they say

in the time you've spent posting in this thread you'd have built your computer by now, also you will feel much more accomplished and pleased with yourself if you do it

No, not really, but i started messing up with my old system, wich i started to care less and less as the time went by, and had some guidance next to me

it's part of the learning process, but i can understand that he bought it brand new and feels a little afraid of damaging something, can't you?
i bet that if he had a chance of build it by his own with a help of a friend that know what he's doing he would choose this way...

Gilgamesh9, if you are willing to build it yourself we are here to assist you amigo
