Anyone interested in a liquor cabinet build? - Page 4

Liquor cabinets can be highly stylized and with a variety of effects. I have one made of an old Victrola.

I think that's a winning combo for a PC case, provided it doesn't heat up the liquor.

Only bad thing is to get blue I have to use PC lighting which requires I also buy an AC->DC converter and wire the lights up. Where as lowes has some 20" cabinet fluorescent white lights for $15 that plugs straight into 120V AC.
Should get some LED light strips. Cut and stick where you want.

Actually this is just going to be a liquor cabinet build, it wont house a pc. I already have the custom case I built 2 years ago for my pc.

I do not really have a need for a combo like that. Plus I dont like the fact that my pc will be inside of my liquor cabinet. Imagine the possibilities that could happen while you are drunk looking for more liquor etc. I will leave it at that.

Those are a bit too pricey for me. I will have to just stick with the cheap cathodes for this. I will be getting some blue and/or UV cathodes.

Anyways atm I am working in google sketchup. I decided to do the final design for it in there as it makes it much easier for me to visualize everything and make sure it looks right. I will post a picture of the sketchup in a little bit when im done with it.

Well that probably works out better

Liquor cabinets are pretty neat and special things in my mind. Like an altar of sorts. Will check back for the sketchup concept!

Sounds like a solid idea. Just remember to put it in off topic since it isn't computer-related

Thanks for the support guys. Here is the basic sketchup concept. The bottom cabinet is detachable from the top. So what is your opinion on this guys? Does the top hood piece look stupid or is it too much? Should I not do the top hood piece? The idea here is to have the mixing area in the top piece as well as be the place to store my glasses. Notice the wine glasses that will be hung upside down from the top. Also there will be 2 doors on the cabinet, I just did not draw them in there yet. So what is your feedback and input on how this looks?
