Thread Starter
Hey guys I asked a couple weeks ago about painting/modding a G500, and this is what I ended up doing. If you guys are interested I can take better pics when I get home tonight. Let me know what you think.

And there you have it.

Very nice. That makes me think of my G7

If it ever dies I might have to get one of these and do this.

What did you use for the Fiber?

That cable sleeve looks like a shoe lace.

The only thing you need to do this mod is some 3M Dinoc film $8

A new set of skates $5

And then a few tools. An Xacto knife, a small screwdriver, and a hair dryer or heat gun.

You basically take the old skates off, take the sticker off the bottom off, take the screws out, and disassemble it. Then you wrap the fiber film around the shell and use the hair dryer to keep the film pliable. Then you trim the excess film with the hobby knife an re-assemble. It's pretty easy, and took me about an hour total.

Pics don't do justice. It looks really nice. I hated the G500 paint job with a passion, but loved the mouse entirely. Now I don't have to sacrifice on the looks department.
