Yes, in that pic he has the fans in pull acting as an intake, assuming that there are no fans on top of the rad (making it push - pull) and that the fans exhaust towards the motor side (most fans do).

You can set up in any combination of push / pull / push - pull and intake / exhaust by flipping the fans round like so:



If this was mounted to the top of the case, the left hand side would be exhaust, the right hand side would be intake.

Wait, so you are comparing two different chips, two different blocks, two different rads and your point is? Of course they will give different temperatures. If you want to see if there is a difference between 3 and 6 fans on your rad, strap another 3 fans to your GTX360 and see what happens.

Increasing the number of fans increases the amount of air pushed through the rad. As you increase the amount of air flow then you increase the cooling ability of the rad.

Still don't believe me? Check out the results of Martin's test I linked earlier:



As you can see, push - pull shows a 17% increase in performance over push alone, and a 25% increase over pull alone. Note that this is for high speed fans, hence why push is better than pull.

The GTX 360 is already 7C cooler than the push pull setup, why would I need to put 3 more fans on the 360 rig, it is not showing the least indication of a temp issue?

The reason I think my rigs run with such a difference is the Black Ice Gen 2 GTX 360 is so good and the Swiftech stackable 360 is so bad.Put them both in a 60-65F ambient temp room and performance is equal, put them in an 95F ambient area and the stackable cannot transfer the heat to the air as well as the Black Ice (even with 3 extra fans). The EK and the Koolance blocks are both top of the line blocks so I would only expect to see the normal 2c variation due to block difference.If I only need to run 3 25X120mm fans of the .31A Sun Ace quality why should I "fan up"? I know it kind of looks cool.

apparently one of the reasons is that cold air is denser than hot air. so in push the fan is grabbing cold air and pushing it through the rad. in pull the fan is grabbing hot air and pulling it through the rad. since cold air is more sense, the push orientation would have the fan moving more air through the rad.
