Hey man. Crytek have not yet said anything about the activation of the DX11 renderer or any kind of graphical mods. They are currently resolving issues with MP and bugs. Luckily there is enough community feedback from all of Crytek's official community pages to push them to actually give us some kind of high-res texture mod and/or DX11. I just hope they tell us something soon.

So... the game works properly? As in, you can run into an enemy and not lag out? You don't have to disable sound for the game to run at a decent framerate? I think we should concentrate on how Crytek DIDN'T screw up the game. They said that it was going to be DX9 after all, with a patch for DX10 in the future and the possibility of DX11. They didn't lie to you, and the game works. They've already one-upped COD BLOPS in my book.

Vsync basically removes the tearing you may see when you're frame rates are higher than your monitor's refresh rate is able to handle. Whether you want it on or off is up to you, but typically when you run benchmarks, you want it off as it caps the frame rate to 60fps...or actually, frame counters only detect 60fps (but frame rates are probably higher with triple buffer on.)
Looking at your signature, I had to laugh "Almost all issues with gaming are caused by vSync"

Anyway triple buffering doesn't get it over 60 frames, it just makes the framerate increments lower (instead of 0-15-30-45-60 etc.) it's (60-57-54-51 etc.) with triple buffering. I can live with that!

I agree. I would have a blast playing co-op with my buddies. I'm sure it wouldn't even be that hard to implement - Croteam did it no problem.

lolwut? V-sync limits your FPS to 60, not triple buffering. Triple buffering allocates a third frame buffer in order to increase the amount of fluidity on the frames being rendered - particularly at lower FPS; however, it also increases latency, and is quite noticeable at -30 FPS, due to the fact that the GPU must wait until three frame buffers, versus two, are empty in order to render a new image.

Triple buffering effects are only seen when v-sync is enabled.

Can anyone show legitimate proof this was supposed to come with dx11?
As for dx9 this is an amazing game. Compared to other dx9 games this year (blops LoL) it blows it away.

At least a year ago we were told it is being made for consoles. That was an admission for pc abandonment. Everyone knew along time ago this would not have modern stunning pc graphics but rather console stunning graphics. As sad as it may be, building an amazing game for consoles is better economically.

The game is great and fun to play. Give up on the dx11 or go play bc2 and metro. Dice are the ones wearing the graphic crown now. Crytek gave it away

Well another false rumor, no DirectX11 today and probably not tomorrow either, after repeated e-mails to crytek still no response. Why in the hell cant they just say either yes we have a patch coming or no we dont have a patch coming..Its pretty fricken simple if you ask me. This whole secritive crap is getting old, I mean its a patch for crying out loud not nuke codes for U.S military why cant we get a simple answer? if there not sure its going to work they could just say: "well we are working hard on it but unsure if its going to work" I mean geez... really??? for Christ sakes this getting rediculous as the comments about it (like mine for example ) ahh, much better now I think..

Ok after digging around in the game cfg files and the recently released list of console commands, I have a suspicion that Direct X 11 is in fact already there for the most part, I think it was in fact coded with the game then turned down to direct x 9 by default then in turned locked?! why you ask? I have no Idea, but do a little poking around and I think you will see what im talking about. Perhaps there working on more grand features of direct x 11 i.e "Tesselations" and or some "ray tracing" before they release the actual (hypothetical of course) "patch"..All this is opinion of course but some hints of directx 11 are in fact in some cfg files of the game along with some console commands...

Guys dx11 will happen but not now or tomorrow. Just later the month or something. 1.2 patch is in the works this week. Enough ranting and whining. Do your research and read the FRIGGIN announcement update page in Crysis 2 forums.

Oh stay away from forums there. It's full of crazy 12 yr olds ranting and trolls.

The game has DX10 files but they are not used, why?
I knew there was not going to be a DX11 patch when Nvidia removed the DX11 compatible from the Crysis 2 game listing on there site
