When the original crysis came out, windows forced direct x10 to vista, to make sure that everyone that wanted the latest graphics was forced to upgrade. They did it once again with direct x 11, forcing people to upgrade to win 7 to get full graphics.
I, for one, am happy that crysis decided to no longer to allow microsoft to led them around and jumping through what ever hoops microsoft decides they need to jump through.
If you want to know what is killing pc games, it is api's like direct x that forces users to one os and one specific os in order to use the game.
As long as microsoft is in control of api's, like direct x, you should support crysis decision not to be microsoft goon.
But of course no one cares about the long term development of games, only what they can play right now.
