$60 x 10 = $600 if you bought 10 games that were good on release.
I'm guessing they are not all release day purchases. However even buying them used, from Gamestop or something, is more expensive than Steam during the epic Steam sales. I swear... I buy some many games during the Steam christmas sales because they are so freaking cheap.

Steam is honestly one of the reasons I stay with the PC

Consoles may be cheaper, but on PC you can quickly pay for your PC's worth in torrents.

.....

Thats definitely the way to support PC gaming and ensure we see great new titles developed on the pc instead of just ports.
If you are being sarcastic I missed it

hey, i was once lost like you, a Xbox zealot who always thought that "ok i know there are PCs better than xbox, but NOT that much better!"

my conversion to the Glorious PC Gaming Master Race occurs two years ago, back in prep school. I used to have all these xbox games from amazon, and blah blah blah... but the dang xbox itself was on its 2nd repair, and it pretty much blew up and i don't have the patience to send it out again.

Around the same time, i tried to play games on a crappy thinkpad, it was awful. Half-life 2 can only run in DX8 mode, just... ugh... i knew something has to be better.

A friend of mine in prep school had a gaming laptop, and he builds computers and was nice enough to build one for me, provided i have the $$$ for it. I did happen to have $1000 left over from my old job at camp, and i was like "sure why not."

So, after much research on Newegg and consulting with my friend's other friend who apparently knows his **** (back then i didn't know **** about computers)

So, my original rig was a Phenom II 720, a GTX260 c216, a Gigabyte mobo (same one right now in my system sig) and 4 gigs of G.Skill Ram (since upgraded to 8 GB of same ram)

funny thing about the tri-core was that my reasoning for it was because the Xbox 360 had a tri-core, therefore a tri-core is COOL! despite my friend begging me for "Get a quad!" back then, there was only the phenom ii 720 or phenom ii 810 or something back in march 2009.

320 GB western digital, later on a 1TB HDD had to be added since it simply wasn't enough, and initally i had to make do with stock cooling.

That was my original rig, since then what you see in my system sig is upgrades like GTX 470, hexacore, and the like.

I still have a little of the xbox zealot in me, like for example, playing EVERY game on pc with a xbox 360 controller, even FPSes. yea, i know you get owned badly, but habit is habit.

Worth it until you have to pony up for another video card, and expensive is relative. In flight you trade height for airspeed, in gaming you trade eye candy on the PC for cost effective consoles. They both have a purpose. You choose depending on your need. For the fortunate ones they can have both.

Why would I ever want a console when I have a PC?

It would be like having a ferrari but still driving a honda civic everywhere.

So that you have a choice. If you have a Ferrari you would probably have a Civic for the times when you don't want to drive your Ferrari.

I recently built this PC to replace my 360. I would never go back to consoles. Too many kids and a terrible gaming comunity on 360. Also, the graphics are better and its much easyer to play a FPS with a mouse and keyboard. Not to mesnion you dont pay $60 a year just to play online.

Xbox is for children
PC is for adults
