£250

Buy 2nd hand p45 board such as p5q pro (for around £50 on ebay)
Then a q6600 or similar (£60-70 on ebay)
Leaves you with enough for a 5850/5870/6850/6870/gtx460/gtx470/gtx560 (100-140)

Thank you phantom, most people are less than helpful, you're very helpful.
That's all i wanted, just some voltages and ratios to know where i stand, then i can work off of them.

Would there be any point in watercooling the cpu and card? Would there be any sufficient improvements to how i can overclock?

I've heard a lot about the corsair ones, i might get one of those.

And i've got an antec truepower modular 650w psu. It was given to me by a friend, he thought he blew it up, but it's fine, he actually just destroyed his processor by overheating.

Some tips on OC'ing you're E6700. Might be a good idea to first get an aftermarket cooler.

Change the following to get up to 3.33GHz

FSB: 333
Core Voltage: 1.5 (You can find the lowest stable voltage once you've stress tested it.)
Ratio/Multiplier: x10
RAM Ratio: 1:1

The overclock I suggested is the easiest to attain on you're current specs IMO. OC'ing it further may be hindered by you're RAM, this due to low speed.
