told you there were days it would slow to a crawl, but before march 30th I still say.

just like evga said no step up for 590.

I really hope MSI or Zotac/Gainward release a custom 590.
Something with 6GB of Vram and triple 8 pin connectors would be rad.
(prolly cost $999)

And cvon, what you have is great...stick with it until Kepler.

After seeing benchmarks the HD 6990 is a little higher than the GTX 590, and they're at roughly the same cost in the UK, not sure about USA.

I'm tempted by the EVGA GTX 590, but after seeing those benchmarks, I'm not impressed! Now I'm thinking I may as well go with a GTX 580 DirectCU II.

@OP: Stick with your 480's until kepler (as someone else stated), they're absolute beasts! I'm worried about getting any graphics card now, as they all have their pro's & con's.

SLI GTX 580 = Too expensive for what you get
Crossfire HD 6970 = Driver issues and bad scaling (apparently)
1x GTX 580 = Also too expensive for what you get
SLI GTX 570's = Only con's I can think of, is having to have a bigger case, with good cooling, maybe some scaling/voltage issues.
SLI GTX 560ti's = Have to stick with the mid - high end range cards until something is worth selling them for
Crossfire HD 6950's = Drivers/scaling problems (also apparently).
GTX 590 = Not enough performance per buck, and possibly voltage issues

I'm completely stuck as to what I should get, or recommend anyone... There's far too much competition these days, and too many combinations, that sometimes finding the best card for you isn't always spending £200+

I could probably get the 550ti and still be happy with the performance, but something inside me will be going " I JUST WANT TO RUN THIS ON MAX SETTINGS! WHY CAN'T YOU BUDGET CARDS HANDLE THIS"...

Argh, I don't know, the HD 6990 seems decent, but runs hot and loud. If someone could just go:

"Right, you need to get the GTX 590 from EVGA, you'll be happy with it, it will max out all games at 60fps!"

But will I though? I don't want to be sat there on the original Crysis, getting under 60 fps after spending £600 on a graphics card. That'd be ridiculous. I could do so much more with my money!

Someone help me decide!

I wish I had 2 x GTX 480's, they'd be awesome, but to buy them now, would be silly for me.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

(I hope this is not trolling, cause evidently this is not my thread haha, but to the OP, stick with them 100%, you'll last a while on those things! I wish I was in your situation, I've sold the rig in my sig, so I have a budget of £1500 for a new system, I have everything I need but the graphics card, and what graphics card depends on what case I get, cause I don't want heat issues)
