Hell, I remember a time when games were functional when they were released. Patches weren't required to play the game.

Just look at Rift, Treyarch released a fully functional MMORPG from day 1 and there haven't been MAJOR issues yet.

I'm not really sure what's going on with Crysis 2, I've just been hearing a lot of things about how bad it is from day 1.

I'd like to see results from other people also.

You pay for a product, I believe it should work out of the gates
or it should not be released.

Its not just minor problems, there are MAJOR game and server problems.
Search threads if you're interested in what I"m talking about.

Beyond that, I"m just trying to help OCN people out
who has put down hard-earned money and have no fully functional game
to play in return

So I should cry and moan to tech support to to get this "free game"? I understand that there are issues, though luckily for me I have low interest in the MP anyways, so I've only tried it once and after getting in a game didn't stay long anyways lol.

But I do have to agree with others, devs nowadays are really slacking when it comes to polishing their product. With how widespread internet access has been, with the ability to patch the games with ease (which for the longest time was really only for PC game), devs have really been dropping the ball. I understand the whole 1.1 patches console and pc games have (which I assume is to allow online play), but with a lot of games getting ported to PC, half ass'd some times, and then add on top of that it was a game that'll need fixes anyways, it's kind of sad what you get for full price now a days compared to years ago.

Heck, I rarely buy a game full price (last time was BFBC2), so to me by the time I actually buy a game there have been 4 or so patches later and it's now running smooth. I wish reviewers took into consideration post-launch patches, maybe 6 months after a game is released they'll drop the grade a point or two for too many game fixing patches. Heck, maybe if they do something like that then the devs will stop working on DLC while the game is still going and actually polish it, then do DLC work after it's released, like they should. I know games in the past have had DLC already on disc, kind of makes you wonder how much DLC work is done on games before they go gold.

if you don't complain and seek compensation then what would the company's incentive ever be for changing their practices, and more thoroughly preparing games for launch, OR taking the time to more quickly address issues at launch

hm?

After putting me through a battery of tests, the tier 1 rep determined there was nothing they could do and suggested my high pings (50-some ms) was somehow keeping me from connecting to games and told me to take it up with my ISP. After calling BS on that they put me to a tier 2 rep who before long offered me a $20 EA online store credit. ME2 arrival DLC for free

Thanks for the idea, but, no thanks. I'm satisfied with my purchase of crysis 2 and would rather not have to go through ea support for the option of getting a 2 for 1 deal Either way, games have recently all had issues and patches are always needed, nothing new. From my own searches about MP, clearing cookies and entering the code when prompted for it in MP with no dashes in lowercase fixed most of the issues, so, it's not as crazy. I do have to admit that I find it funny that you guys were first adopters then are now complaining that MP isn't working as it should. Would've been wiser to wait for other members to see if everything is working before taking the plunge

I would think lower reviews would have an incentive over customer service. Cause look at it, regardless of whether they fix an issue day one or day 100, the games been reviewed, slobbered, and drooled over by then. Many people look at recent reviews of ONE PERSON, and chose an opinion...

It's about the updates later on, and the fixes, why can't they just hold their "horses" and release a game that has been looked over, and not something that needs 3 more patches to fix1?
