Will adding 2 more ram sticks mess up my OC?

Thread Starter
I currently have 2x4gb of 1333 7-7-7-20-24 at 1.545V with 1090T at 4.0 at 1.4V and cpu-nb at 3000 with 1.35V. on GIGABYTE GA-790XTA-UD4

If I were to plug in 2 more of those rams will it affect my stability?

I apologize for asking, but do you need more than 8 GB of memory?

Shouldn't affect the 1090T. Just make sure the RAM is the same, or at least the same rating.

Then don't install more than you already have so that you don't mess with it.

I know I won't add more ram right now but there is a difference between won't and can't. I just wanted to know if I had the option to add more ram in the future if I had to, without it messing up my OC settings.

By the time you need more memory, you will have built an entirely new system.

If you get the same exact RAM, for the most part you'll be fine. The extra power draw isn't major. I had 2 sets of 2x2GB G.Skill and OCZ and didn't have any problems. The only reason I got rid of the G.Skill set is because it died, I RMA'd it, and decided to pass them off towards my mother-in-law's new build.

And yes, by the time we even get CLOSE to needing more than 8GB of RAM, you won't be wanting that RAM at today's speeds. (1600/2200MHz)

Cables, it still amazes me when I see E8400s alive at 4.0GHz. I know it's EASILY accomplished on that chip, but it still just amazes me. I had one at 4.2GHz stable with probably less voltage than my Q6600 has now. Great CPU. I'd say the 2500k/2600k are the quad core E8400s.
