nVidia vs ATi - Page 4

God dammit, lol, I'm in the same predicament I was 4 months ago! Still looking at the GTX 570 DirectCUII sli... and the 2gb Gainward GTX 560TI... arghhhh! I 've posted so many times, and still none the wiser.

Of all the benches I've seen the HD6990 is superior as a single slot card... the HD 6970 is also fantastic, and a single GTX 570 is fantastic... I'm so confused... There's so many cards to choose from, I may as well just wait until something unbelievable comes along...

So I'd suggest the GTX 570 as a single card as everyone else has! But if I was going to SLI or crossfire, I'd probably pick the HD 6970, they are completely obliterating everything in benchmarks that I've seen!

God dammit... so confused...

Just ordered another 6950 2GB version and will unlock it...it will cost me overall 550, and will get the performance that will blow a 580 out of the water and trade blows with a 570 SLI setup... Right now for bang for the buck performance, this is the card(s) to get... The Scaling on the 6900 series is incredible(sometimes nearing 100%)....

Now for those that tout F@H as the factor...AMD cards shine at BIONIC applications... Here is a thread with more info on that...

http://www.overclock.net/overclock-n...g-dragons.html

And for PhysX... the Bullet Physics that are used in the 3D Mark11 gives you a hint on what is on future...

I will admit in some areas nvidia shines in applications that can properly use the CUDA cores, but if you are doing more gaming than other applications, AMD has many advantages as well...Just all depends on your what appeals to you...

The 570 is the fastest card that you listed in the OP:

Always check the stickies before asking your question

Well first off the GTX 580 beats an AMD 6970 in EVERY game out there. The GTX 570 compares more closely with the AMD 6970 edging out very slightly. Read reveiws from credible sources who concur the same thing over and over. Don't just read one review site but compare them all. You'll see the common denomiator.

So out of your list and to keep on topic to your question, you have two choices, AMD 6970 or GTX 570. Both great cards and will boil down to your specific wants out of the card.

If you plan on running three monitors then AMD's card. If your not, you'll get physx, and 3D capability without third party solution with Nvidia and can run up to two monitors.
