How does this SB build look?

Thread Starter
I have a customer who would like a new SB system for a bit of gaming, CS5, and some custom 3D rendering software. She gave me a list with the specific parts that she wanted but some slight modifications may be made. She originally requested a Gainward Phantom GTX 570, but I really don't think that is going to happen. It seems to be a limited-production card or just hard as hell to find.

Let me know what you think:

CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz

Motherboard: MSI P67A-GD55 (B3)

Memory: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600

Graphics card: EVGA SuperClocked GTX 570

PSU: CORSAIR HX 750W Modular

CPU cooler: Antec KÃœHLER H2O 620

Burners: LG WH10LS30 Blu-ray Burner and LG DVD Multi-burner

There are other items she is getting like an Antec 1200 and some peripherals, and I am going to try to talk her into an SSD for her system drive, but that has yet to be seen.

Looks nice. I am not so sure you need a superclock. You can get the standard and set it to start up at the superclocked speeds.

SSD would be nice! I noticed it was huge for mine. I had it, then took it out and used a WD Blue. Very noticeable.

I don't think they are that intensive because she is right now using a laptop for her work. I am sure it is a pretty high-end lappy, but really how high-end could it be?

So she can copy disks if she likes. That's why the 1-Bluray and 1- DVD burner.

That's true. She requested 8GB and she said that a lot of her work is done on a distributed computing grid so maybe that's all she needs.

If you're gonna OC. Get atleast the UD3P. I've read a lot of problems about UD3 being unstable bcoz of vdroop. It does not have VRM according to what I've read.

yea, no need for 16gb's then if the resources are shared.

i doubt they'll need to overclock on a grid

depending on how much rendering is being done, you may want to bump up to a 2600k
