I feel like I'm a bit blessed in this regard because I am unemployed and I live at home with my parents. So, I have nothing but time on my hands. To make things even better for me is that I really don't have a social life, so I practically live at my computer.

Anyway, it seems to me that getting a virus is a bit like having sex: the more sex partners someone has, the greater their chances are of getting an STD - even when using the best protection money can buy. So, I feel that the internet is no different.

Unfortunately, I don't know how to get infected with WindowsRecovery. However, I have a feeling that it's acquired either via e-mail, or by visiting some kind of malicious website that only seems safe.

I suppose another way to get infected is through Steam.

Edit: I did not visit that site (http://www.xdelbox.com/how-to-get-ri...ws-diagnostic/) because like I said: I'm careful about what I click and where I go on the internet. Plus, I've never heard of www.xdelbox.com.

Hmm. HDDErase cannot find my drives unfortunately.

Tried tweaking every BIOS setting to no avail.
Are there any other programs which perform the same functions that I can use?

Cheers

Did you perform the steps exactly as they described without doing anything differently?

Yup

The problem appears to be due to my BIOS not supporting IDE 'compatibility' mode (aka legacy mode, native mode), thus none of the drives on my SATA bus are detected. Sad day

It also turns out that the Intel X25-M does not infact work with HDDErase 4.0.
I acquired a version of 3.3 which is known to work with the drive and encountered the same problems. I wasn't really expecting that version to work anyway, as it isn't until you try and erase the drive with 4.0 that it decides not to work.

Native mode should be disabled. Native Mode makes it more compatible with OSs like XP, Vista, Windows 7, etc.
