Windows Server 2008 - The trust relationship ...

There is a workstation that can log into the domain when the windows server first boots.

When the user on the work station logs out, he is unable to log back in and gets "The trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed".

When the server is rebooted he can log in again, and if he logs out or switches users, he gets the trust error.

All the other workstations are working with no problems, i tried adding another user account for him to try, but getting the same error when he logs out and tries to log back in. the only way he can seem to log back in is to reboot the server.

If I am understanding you correctly,
Try joining the problematic client pc to a workgroup and then re-joining it to the domain.

He can log in once with no problems, but once he logs out he cannot log in again without turning the server off and on again.

He gets the trust relationship error when he tries and logs in after logging out, turning the server off and on again allows him to log in again.

Would rejoining the domain be a pernament fix for it?

Disjoin the workstation from the domain, delete the computer object from Active Directory, force replication between all your domain controllers, and then rejoin the computer to the domain. That should do it.

And also ensure that the workstation is pointing to the appropriate DNS servers within your domain.

Would that fix it permanently or just until he reboots or the server reboots?

It should fix it permanently. But without access to your environment, nobody can guarantee this because we don't know if there are any other issues with your domain environment.
