Can I use a 7.7a laptop charger in place of a 4.7a charger?

My girlfriends laptop charger just crapped out, luckily my Asus and her Toshiba share the same charger socket type. The only thing I'm unsure of is the increased current my charger puts out. Will it fry her battery or anything of that nature?

Thanks or your help!

Yes. Voltage is fixed; current is variable, and the rated current is a maximum. As long as both chargers are 19V (or whatever) it will be fine.
