Is my card being bottlenecked

Thread Starter
check my specs. I just got the geforce GTX 460 card. I play bad company 2 a lot and I can play in high settings but it doesn't play as well as i Hoped with the new card. Now i got dragon age 2 and wanted to play with everything on max settings and The game was playing horrible. I want to know if I need to get a new processor and if what I have is bottlenecking my card. To be honest i've been looking at a whole new computer, perhaps going with an alienware. I wanna be rdy for battlefield 3. Thanks for your time. Oh and i was looking at the new intel core i7's

2.4 is pretty low. I would definatley reccomend OC'ing that bad boy up a bit to maybe a 2.8 but still, that's kinda low as well but you'll see improvement for sure.

Also, BFBC2 is a CPU intensive game as it is optimized to use all 6 of my CPU cores. DA 2 is a console port and thrives on CPU power as well if I'm not mistaken.

The 2600k is an other socket type 1155, it wont fit on your current 775 socket mobo, also you need new ddr3 memory types.

Wrong.

Dragon Age 2 is dependent on GPU power.
