you could build your own computer for 1/2 the price of a over priced dell gaming PC, because thats what Alienwares are now, over priced dells.

I say you OC that quad if you can and push it close to 3.0ghz

Need to replace 3 hardware parts and your rdy to go, intel 2500k + 4/8gb ddr3 + mobo and perhaps a 2nd gtx 460 in the future for sli setup

stay away from "custom" gaming rig sales. Build your own for sure. Others have given good advice. People can tell you what to buy all day long, but your best bet is to do some research and start learning if you want to get semi-serious about it. A decent gaming rig is easy to put together now days.

Go to newegg.com and start shopping around. I always recommend picking the processor you want first, then choose a board with the socket that will fit it, from there you can choose the memory.

Have fun . . . do the research and save yourself a grand or more then buying a pre-built.
