Then definitely for this upgrade. You won't regret it. In fact, if you want to spend a bit more money.. Go for the Asus P8P67 Pro mobo instead of the msi. It's even easier to O.C., and is way more energy efficient.

It's up to you whether you want to go through with this all or not. I'll tell you this though. It will fix your problem, and leave you problem-less for the next 4+ years.

you could get something like this

the choice asus boards seem to be out of stock

you'll need a new Os if you bought yours oem

i always recommend a new hard drive with a new core component swop to avoid complications

you might be able to reuse your case/psu and dvd drive and use the old hard drive as storage

if you cant use your case it would be your choice as to what case you want

Not like it's going to take newegg a year to restock..

Order the P67 PRO, you might have a wait a big longer for them to get a new supply in, but it'll be worth it rather than purchasing another mobo instead, to have it, and wish you waited an extra seven days for the one you actually wanted.

If you see a P67 mobo / sandybridge CPU combo you like, go right ahead. Just make sure it's an 1155 socket CPU with a P67 chipset motherboard.

A bit over $400:

After you upgrade to this, your computer speed will be like night and day.

Don't even bother looking at that other guy's post lol. I really have no idea why he posted that.

That case is great! You shouldn't have an issue at all. I'm not sure about Win7, although it should be fine.

Yeah, you're A-OK to go ahead with that build m8.

Don't buy a prebuilt rig. If you would like to know how to build a rig yourself, watch this video, Linus is VERY tech savvy, he get's payed by NCIX to make these video's. He's very thorough, and uses terminology everyone can understand. He'll also explain why he 'does something like "this", to make your PC build even better'. Don't worry about how it's an AMD build.. the only difference is that the CPU says AMD instead of intel on it It's the exact same process and appearance for ANY pc build.

>x58 chipset
>1st gen i7

Why pay over a thousand dollars for older tech, when you can buy a P67 board, and 2500k for even a bit cheaper than this site is over-pricing it for? Remember that you're paying extra money for their "labor", when really, they have a lot of these pc's to put together, and don't have the "attention to detail" aspect that most of us want.

Also, that PSU looked sketchy lol. Btw, the "80plus gold, silver, bronze" is a huge gimmick. Corsair even took the logo off all their PSU's lately so they don't look like sellouts. Just thought I'd point this all out.

With all the money you save building yourself, you can either just.. well... save it. Or, you can even drop it on a kickass GPU.

Building a rig is wayy easier than you think
