PSU for 580 sli

Thread Starter
recently i bought one 580.. know im planning to change psu, but im questioning which one
in my country the two psu that i found cheaper are cooler master silent pro 1000w and the other one which is much cheaper satellite SL-X1000EPS 1000w
is the satellite a good choice ? i read reviews that it isnt so bad... but for a 580 sli is ok ?
thanks !

I would not suggest satellite psus. If a power supply blows it can take your entire system with it. It is always best to go with a reputable brand, even if it costs a little more. With that being said, a 750W psu for a gtx580 is fine. There is no reason to get a 1000W psu unless you are planning on doing something extreme like triple sli down the road.

Get the coolermaster on or a corsair one

What are your options (in your country) for 850w's? You really don't need that much juice.

850w is plenty. Seasonic/Antec/Corsair

A 750W PSU would be enough, heck maybe on a 650W.

Two things,

P55A-UD3P does not support SLI, the 2nd PCIe is running at only x4 Gen 1.1 from the P55 chipset.

Second, you will be fine with 580 SLI on a quality 750W as long as you are not pusing the CPU or GPU to any decent overclock, then you wont be pushing it anywhere cloes to the limit.

I am running a GTX 580 with a thermaltake 850 PSU, and it is running fine. Hope this helps.
