Ur volt looks good, But Ur NB temp looks a little high so try lowering the NB volt if U can.

I'm jealous of your CPU/NB overclock. I can only get mine to 2600Mhz. Granted, I am running pretty tight timings (1600Mhz at 6-8-6-20-24).

4.0Ghz is pretty normal on the 955 with a voltage of about 1.45-1.55 depending on your cooling. I have the same HT link/Multi set-up as you I believe (20x200) and I need about 1.45v.

As to your question about IBT...I'm not totally familiar with that program. I typically like running an hour of OCCT. A lot of people will say that this isn't nearly long enough, but I'm not doing 24/7 folding or anything like that. I have full stability in Windows and in 1-2hr gaming sessions after an hour of OCCT. Good luck!

I game for anywhere from 1-6 hours at a time, so I'm gonna give 1 night of 20 runs of IBT at maximum and then another night of prime95 for a few hours. See how all that goes

Just run 12-24 hours of Prime95. Your NB seems a little high but yeah good overclock.

At the moment I am going to find the cutest, cuddly and nice kitten in the world. And then I'm gonna whip it like a football through my monitor.

I am resurrecting this thread so I don't create another but I am having SERIOUS problems and I am getting so incredibly pissed.

So with the original posted overclock I ran 1 IBT at max and it went fine, woke up this morning and tried to run the same settings at max but 20 times and bam a bluescreen before the first one finished. So I get home from work and set it back to the 1.45v cpu, 3.8Ghz (and 2800Mhz, 1.3v NB/CPU) and I ran 1 IBT at max settings and it worked to make sure. Well I just went out and tried to run it 20 times at the 3.8Ghz oc and I come back and I got a bluescreen.

So what I did was (after freaking out and killing kittens) set my CPU/NB voltage to normal, set my northbridge down to 2000Mhz (stock). And out of frustration I put my CPU at 4.0Ghz and the voltage at 1.475v.

Ugh if anyone can help me at all. Ever since I've messed with the northbridge I have had problems. The only voltage I touched was the NB/CPU voltage (not the straight up NB voltage) I am not sure if that is an error on my part, or some weird voltage combo between the 2. But blarg!!!

Ya I'm at a total loss, now my NB and CPU temps both hit 60c, why the Nb hits 60c when its not overclocked and the voltage is stock is beyond me.

I guess I should restart my OC settings and start the stepping process again. I'm just so confused on if I should go for CPU or Northbridge hertz first.

I still think you gotta come down on that cpu/nb freq to around the 2600 mark to get stable.

I had to come down to 2400ish on that, and set the volts accordingly any more cpu will overheat and Prime crash in seconds...

Im hoping the MX-4 I ordeerd is here tomo, then I will try bump cpu/nb up to 2600 and raise the volts a tad...

Well at the moment I put everything at stock.

My ram is rated for 9-9-9-2t@1600Mhz, so I set it to that and I am gonna leave it at that most likely since I cant see it impacting game performance a whole lot.

But I am still curious how I should go about stepping with the CPU and NB. If maybe I should do one first or the other first hmm...and the voltages also, CPU and CPU/NB and NB voltages. The latter 2 confuse me a tad.

The whole thing is frustrating last week i had 3.8 OC stable in Prime for 12 hours, a couple of days later I did prime again wth everything on same settings and cores crashed not long into test.

Ive tried OCCT last night and my 4ghz test OC that I been on, a core died in ten mins that was same as rock solid stable in prime for an hour.

Got lots of settings scribbled on millions of bits of paper, now theres so much I cant ever find the bit of paper I need LOL but think im getting there....

Ya im gonna be starting from scratch and stepping up slowly, maybe I'll jack the CPU as high as possible then slowly move up the NB.
