Cooler Master case computer crashes when touch frt usb ports Please Help

I have a haf 932 case and sometimes when I start to plug something in the front usb ports or audio jack the computer screen goes black and crashes. I have to push power button to restart. My dads cooler master gladiator case did it today. What is going on and how do I fix this problem. I almost forgot that when I start up everest program it pops up a message saying I just plugged something into audio jack. I dont know if that is related or not. :confused:Thanks

Sounds like your front port assembly may be shorting out somewhere on the case.I would take the front off and inspect the housing and the wiring.Cooler master will replace them for you for free. You need only provide a pic if they ask.

Pull it off and check for any wire chafing or damage. You can replace them separately. Not sure what the warranty is on them, if any.

Pull out the reset header plug (really) "and then ask how much you owe me".tongue.gif:D

Then go to the Cooler Master eRMA URL and put in for that part assembly.

This is a normal problem with the Haf series.

What you have to do is disassemble the top of your Case and then find the USB and ESata and control wires and find out where the short is. It is due to a screw being screwed in and pinching a wire.. Sorry.. It is a very simple problem. I know you hoping for a deeper solutions.

Anything shorted out anywhere? It could be anywhere from the USB ports down to the standoffs on the mobo. No extra standoffs, no shorts in the USB thing, no screws in places there shouldn't be?

I just removed the top panel and cut the wires for the reset switch and taped them up and put back together. I never use the reset switch anyhow. So far no problems with anything. Thanks:D

You're welcome buttttttt.....

You needed not to cut the wires, just to only have disconnected it from the motherboard header.

However you ought to get a replacement from Cooler Master.
