GTX 285 SLI issue.

Lately I've been having complications in various games with these 2 285's. The first symptoms notices were freezes and crashes to the desktop and more recently the same issue arises only accompanied by utterly abysmal performance afterward. Things I noted:

Temps while playing before crash:
Top card - 80 C
Bottom card - 73 C

Temps at crash:
TC - 83-83 C
BC - 74-76 C

GPU usage before crash:
1 - 80%
2 - 74%

During crash:
1 - 121%....
2 - 0%...
(All taken in TF2)

Games most afflicted: TF2, Rift, BFBC2

Only after a restart will the performance normalize....any ideas? Thanks. smile.gif

They're running at stock clock speeds and I'm assuming the factory OC should be stable...assumptions. >.>

my 285 ocx wasnt even stable below stock clocks. maybe do a hard mod if you have the reference models. a few bumps in voltage is pretty easy to do.

Interestingly, this problem hasn't always existed, but it has pervaded multiple driver updates, cooling upgrades, etc. Definitely looking into a downclock, though. Thanks. smile.gif
